I am so excited about our very first interview with the creator and owner of two wonderful online community sites, babytalkbio and frunchymama.
What’s your name? Stephanie What is the name of your business? babytalkbio.com and frunchymama.com When did you start it? Babytalkbio was started in February of 2005 and frunchymama began in October of 2006. Why did you start your business? I wanted to create a community for moms to share and create real friendships. It is so much easier to have support than parent alone! What inspires you? I am so inspired by our members! They are constantly coming up with new and interesting ideas to include in and enhance the sites. Their refusal to accept status quo and request *more* is something I am constantly striving to keep up with and inspires me to give more. And do more.. And create more! Who is your biggest cheerleader? —> What would be your #1 piece of advice that you would give to any mom just starting out or wanting to start a business? There is no easy money and if something sounds too good to be true- it generally is! Really though, its a matter of deciding what you want to do and finding the resources to do it. Whether that be time, money, support, or other, be prepared to work hard and take it seriously. Committing to a business, instead of just finding some extra income, are two very different things. Decide your commitment level and be honest with what you are willing to give to build a business. How do you keep your kids occupied when you are working? My son is in preschool and I am lucky enough to be able to work during those hours. When he was little, I would work during naps and any other time that I could fit in. It’s definitely a struggle. What do you never leave the house without? Keys are about the only thing that I must have- other than that it really depends the where and whens- I like to bring what’s needed for that particular adventure. Oh and I generally have a pair of superhero underwear and extra shorts. Size 4T. Boys. No particular reason.

I never leave home with out my wallet. If kids are in tow I never leave home without my diaper bag. Never know when you may need that extra set of clothes or some wipes.

I LOVE BTB! It rocks! Lately, it seems I never get to leave home without my KIDS! KIDS, purse & keys!
I think it’s a tie between diaper bag, wallet, keys, and cell phone. I’m generally never without any of those.
