Did you know…”Studies have shown that learning another language before the age of 6 helps children read sooner, show advanced cognitive development and score higher on math and verbal sections of standardized tests!”
I am really excited that my son learns Spanish in pre-school. They only do it once a week though so I’m not totally sure how much he will retain. But already he came home last Thursday saying “Mi Padre!” when he saw Daddy. It was really cute (and pretty cool!). I hope he picks up some Spanish and I am trying to use words that I know from growing up in Southern California and my high school Spanish days. We’ll see.
But, this awesome product, the Boca Beth Spanish Language Program, might be another way for us to go. It’s created by a mom and a bilingual educator. She’s got this great program to teach your children Spanish using a cute, fun puppet called Boca. Her program is made up of DVDs, the Boca puppet, music CDs, sing alongs, bilingual coloring/activity books and a how-to booklet for mom and dad.
From the Boca Beth site:
“BOCA BETH CDs and DVDs are your child’s fun and easy introduction to learning Spanish the fun way! She and her language amigo Boca the puppet will get your child moving, shaking and singing in Spanish in no time! These fun, easy-to-use, and affordable bilingual Language Learning Sets are chock-full of Spanish words and phrases!”
Boca Beth is offering a free Spanish Boca Beth DVD and puppet to one lucky reader!!
