It’s Day 5 of our party and it’s time to bust out one of the bigger boxes. And underneath the wrapping paper I see an ERGO baby carrier! I have only heard good things about the Ergo. They are made right here on Maui, in upcountry. To learn a bit more about Ergo, I’ve gone to two friends of mine…
First is my own sister, Lara, who swears by her Ergo…even with having had back problems. Here’s a pic of her and my cutie patootie nephew, Winston at Disneyland.
“We use the Ergo mostly for adventures where there is alot of walking and then waiting (ie: lines), so it’s seen a ton of use in situations like trips to the zoo, amusement parks or just waiting to board a plane. My 20 month old, Winston, gets antsy when we aren’t moving. He also wants to see what’s going on, but I need to keep him close. So the Ergo comes in very handy. And Winston gets a birds-eye view. Plus, since I have a bad back I can’t hold my little dude in my arms for too long without pain. The Ergo solves that for me. It distributes the weight so nicely that I can keep my son much closer to me for longer than I ever could just holding him in my arms. And being hands-free is vital when boarding a plane. Then, once we are seated and set for the flight, the Ergo packs away in our carry-on quite nicely. It’s soft, but strong. And super comfortable for both Winston and momma. We both love it!!”
My mommy friend over at BabyTalkBio.com, Teresa, also loves her Ergo and talks about how she used it when they were visiting Hawaii last year. This pic is of her little one all content in his ERGO while they were in Kona.
“Love love love love my ergo! When Alex was 15 months we hiked all over Hawaii while I was carrying Alex. He was 30lbs at the time and I was seriously carrying him All.Day.Long. I never had a back ache or pain. He only liked the front carry position, but is was a godsend. He would nap while I shopped and everything. He is definitley not a stroller baby, so having a comfortable carrier that won’t hurt my back is VERY important.”
So, you want to get an ERGO for Christmas? Well, you are in luck, ERGO has donated a Hawaiian print ERGObaby Carrier, Backpack, and Front Pouch; three components of their HandsFree System!
