Aloha Friday Finds…Professor Pocket’s Hawaiian Hula Adventure {giveaway!}

WINNER!

Professor Pocket’s Hawaiian Hula Adventure is fabuloso, magnifico, and really really cool! It definitely takes the cake as one of my fave Spanish learning CDs, hands down! I’ve never come across such a cool combo of teaching kids about the beach and Hawaii all while teaching them Spanish.

My son is a sponge and really grasps onto other languages right now, I think most kids do at his age. He’s learning Spanish every other week in school and can bust out his numbers 1-20 (yeah I’m bragging, I think it’s really really neat) I know that learning languages is so so important. And I also know that it’s easier to pick up the younger you are. So we’re starting now. That’s why I was so excited to hear about this hula shakin’ CD. It’s just one more step to get the kids engaged and interested in learning another language. (which they say helps later in life with math and problem solving skills)

What I also love is that the entire CD tells a story and intermingles Spanish phrases for things we see every day. Like the beach, volcanoes, even hula dancing. So you not only get a trip to Hawaii but it’s Hawaii via Mexico…two of my favorite places! This is one CD we like to listen to in the car. It’s great for when we are driving an hour into town. The characters, Desi the Dinosaur and Chico the Chicken really get your child’s imagination going and get them excited to learn Spanish. This CD is interactive and makes learning Spanish naturally fun!

You wanna go on a Hawaiian vacation (via Mexico)? Giveaway!

Because being fluent in Spanish is something that is important. I could get a better job if I was bilingual. I want that for my daughter, I want her to have the best.

There is a very heavy Spanish influence in my part of the country, but my high-school Spanish (almost 40 years ago) is more than rusty. This would be a great way for my daughter (who is crazy for anything to do with Hawaii) to learn some Spanish!
