♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I saw an article on the front page of Yahoo explaining how to add a ♥ to an email, post, tweet, you name it. And they had great answers…if you had a PC. I do not. I am an Apple girl and their instructions didn’t work on my Mac so, I did some digging. And now I’ll share with you how to add that awesome ♥ symbol, just in time for Valentine’s Day!
If you are in a browser and typing, facebooking, or tweeting away, and you feel the urge to say how much you love something the following will get the point across…Let’s use some of my favorite things as an example…
“I {heart} chocolate!” <–notice the brackets, I {heart} these, but they are not needed.
“I also <3 a flowers!” <–when this started creeping up online I had no idea what it meant, I actually thought it was a sideways bootie with a party hat on. Nope, it’s a heart using the less than symbol “<” and the number 3
And lastly,
“I ♥ pedicures!” <—to add the awesome actual heart symbol on a mac…while in the application, say twitter, post, facebook, just go to EDIT-Special Characters-Miscellaneous and there you will find a real deal ♥!
You can also click on the American Flag in the right corner on your laptop, then click “Show Character Palette” and insert your ♥!

Too funny I was just wondering this. We have Mac’s at work. I actually ended up coping and pasting. I couldn’t figure it out!!

I had NO idea about special characters! Awesome! Now if only I could figure out how to use all the fonts in the font book that came with this Mac. . . :)

here’s an easier way. go to insert symbol in word. pull up the webdings menu. click on heart, then click on auto correct to make a heart appear when you type (heart)
