  4. I loved your video SO much! You are definitely not boring, you’re hilarious and I love your energy. Hawaii looks beautiful and I love how nice everyone is to each other on the road. I don’t drive, although I live in a farm town in Pennsylvania and you have to drive to get anywhere, but my partner is super awesome and doesn’t mind taking me where I need to go and running errands. The reason why I don’t drive, as I’m sure you’re wondering, is because I have frequent panic attacks and have anxiety, which isn’t fun but it’s manageable on most days. Anyway–goodness, I have such a horrendously tendency to ramble! I really enjoyed your vlog and hope you have enjoyed the UBP so far. I know I have!

You can find my party post here–http://womantribune.com/time-ultimate-blog-party-2010 AND I have an awesome giveaway going on so you should enter it. I’m giving away 10 (yes, 10!) copies of the awesome anthology, My Little Red Book, all about first periods. And who can’t relate to that, right!?

  7. Aloha Sarah,

What a fun vlog. It’s true, San Diego waters are cold!! I come from Rhode Island and have been in “sunny” San Diego for ~10years, but I still can’t get used to the cold waters. I will admit, I love being able to go outside just about everyday of the year. I spend countless hours walking along the 101 by the beach and never tire of the scenery.

We went to the Big Island last October and had an absolute blast! Loved the “rain forest zoo” (free), hanging in Kilaeau Kona during the out rigger races, and lounging by the pools. We have yet to make it to Maui, but definitely have big plans!

  8. Aloha Sarah, what a nice informative video that was. I’ve never been to Hawaii but my Mom & Step-Dad was there on their honeymoon & she bought some real pearls there that my youngest daughter wore for her wedding. I’d love to go there to see the waterfalls & lay out at the beach. I’ve never swam in the ocean & some day I’d like too. I have a friend that lives in Kailua-Kona. We went to school together & we keep in touch via e-mail. My husband is a lead guitarist in a band called “Nuff Said”. http://www.nufsed.org So, I would love to win the Ukulele and surprise him for his birthday the end of May. My url is http://thenewxmasdolly.blogspot.com I don’t twitter much. I’m still learning. Ooops gotta go just broke my tooth. Nice to meet you! I’ll be back to look around. Fantastic blog! Have a great weekend! Happy UBP Thanks for sharing.!

  13. Hi Sarah,
Nice video. I’ve never been to Hawaii but hope to get there in about two years, if all goes according to plan, (which it usually never does.) You look like you’re a busy momma who is juggling alot- good for you! If I may ask, what is the business you’re trying to start? I know there are many moms out there trying to start businesses, we need to all support each other whenever and however we can. You can check out my new site, ( it’s very much a work in progress, I have four kids and not enough hours in the day,) at http://www.celebrate-motherhood.com if you’d like.
Well thanks for the Hawaii tips, I hope to be able to use them someday. :)

    • @Kimi Clark, HI Kimi! When you make it out here, you’ve got to let me know! I love meeting up with people I’ve met through my blog.

My business in progress is Tag a Towel http://www.Tagatowel.com, magnetic i.d. tags for your towel so you can reuse your towel and know whose is whose. You can sign up for updates on my site, that’s currently under construction.

That’s why I am a HUGE lover of mompreneurs – they inspire me and get me motivated :) I’m part of Heather Allards Mogul Moms group and with that help things are coming along…hopefully I will be launching this year (it’s been 2 years in the making!)

So great to meet you – off to check out your site! Sarah

      • @Sarah, Great idea! I signed up for your updates, wow, it’s really taken two years to get things going? I’m also looking at starting a business, I have a few different ideas but am unsure which direction I want to take right now so I just continue to research what the best option would be for me.

I follow Heather as well but wasn’t able to become part of the group at this time, hopefully in the future. I kind of feel like I don’t want to jump in with both feet yet until I’m sure about what I’m going to start, I’m kind of just testing the waters. I love to hear about other moms business ventures also, it’s helpful to see how others got started and some of what they went through. I am encouraged when I hear about other moms having success with their businesses, it just makes me want it even more. ;)

Very nice meeting you, take care and keep pressing on- you’ll get there! Kimi

  14. Stopping by through the UBP and love your life! You definitely have a way of making a person feel like they know you. I love plumerias and grow them here in SW Florida. Lovely family too.
.-= Patty Coleman´s last blog ..Ultimate Blog Party 2010 hosted by 5 Minutes For Mom =-.

    • @Patty Coleman, I love my life too! hahaha! But even in paradise you get blow out diapers, crabby kids and at times a mommy freak out (or two) ;)

      Great to meet you Patty!

  15. Hey there California girl! I live in Nor Cal but hubby is from San Diego (which school did you go to?) and we visit there often. Your kids are so cute. I love when your son shrugged and didn’t know what to say about his mom. You got off easy on that one cuz I am sure he could have come up with something good.
We love Hawaii. Check out this post of our family “adventure” to Hawaii complete with a picture of my son in a toga (cuz mom did not bring a change of clothes and his diaper leaked) and my daughter’s poop covered onsie (cuz she had a major blowout in the bjorn, in the airport). http://hagenhoopla.blogspot.com/2006/10/kodak-moments.html
The things Hawaiian dreams are made of.

    I want that ukulele.

    • @Wendy Hagen,
OMG, I am laughing out loud…you rock for the toga, Mama!!

I went to the University of San Diego and then lived in Encinitas for close to 7 years before moving to Maui.

When I was shooting the video and asked my son, for a split second in my head I thought “uh oh, what is he going to say?!” Yes I got off lucky indeed! We all know that kids know ALL the secrets ;)

      Awesome to meet you Wendy!

  16. I am so jealous of you! I ADORE Hawaii! I have been there several times and it is my favorite place. You are SO lucky to live there!

LOVED LOVED LOVED your video! How fun was that! GREAT work girl! :)

    • @Janice (5 Minutes for Mom), I LOVE that you LOVE Hawaii! So do I, obviously :) I have to pinch myself daily to make sure this is all real.

Thank you ladies for hosting the UBP! This is so fun!

      xoxo, Sarah

  17. Yup that pic of my hubby is in Maui (we got married there in ’05… where we decided what we’d name our daughter Makena if we were ever lucky enough to have little ones!) and we’ve only been back once since then. I miss it something terrible! There’s definitely something special about the islands!! I miss Leilani’s and I know you know of a lot of better local places but Chris loves the hula pie (we live in Cali so we hit up Duke’s when he’s desperate!) Anyways, love your site! The pictures are great!!

    • @Launa, I work for the same company as Lei’s! It’s YUM! Got the job to get a discount ;) Plus it’s a great company!

  18. Ah! Maui!! Gosh we need to visit soon!! Anyways, just stopping by from UBP and love your blog! Beautiful! Happy Saturday!

  19. Just made yummy guacamole, forgot to add that to my list of faves in this video… #ubp10 – http://theohanamama.com/2010/04/aloha-to… (via @SarahBHawaii)

  20. Sarah, thank you so much for the kind words. Yes, I know from Canada to Florida?! Well, I met my husband when he played hockey in my hometown. One thing led to another and here I am :)
I might make it over to the vlog world one day haha…

Nice to meet you. I hope you have time to visit mine as well, in HERE. Have a nice weekend.

  26. Enjoyed the chance to take Cam to school with you and Leah. Movie stars in the making. Hoping Leah gets to have one of those pretty pink floral ukulele’s….so she can play along while she hulas. And so can Cam with his own ukulele.

    • @Tutu4r, That is Leah’s :) I’ll buy a new one for the winner. We’re getting quite the ukulele collection!

  27. I’d love to visit Hawaii! I’d love to see the scenery and visit you! Nice singing :)

    • @Monique, Vlogging is fun but hard to do with screaming kids (like mine are at the moment) ;) So writing is easier at times for us moms!

So nice to meet you – of to check out your site now!

      Aloha, Sarah

  29. Ahhh, I can smell the plumeria now! I just read your two posts about Hawaii (15 thngs and your move). I love Hawaii, and so does my hubby and toddler son (we introduced him last year). Our 3 month old daughter has yet to meet the beautiful land of surf. It’s just a matter of time. We get the “itch” every couple of years. Never been to Maui, though. I soooooo want to live there! Stop by my parties (yea, I have 2 blogs – I’m a nerd like that) when you have a chance. Mahalo!

  31. Hi Sarah, I’m Amy and my URL is above. I have never been to Hawaii, although I would like to visit sometime. Someday…someday. If I was there though I’d probably like to visit a volcano and besides that, just sit on a beach all day watching the waves pass by. Ahhhh…that sounds nice. Really nice!
.-= Amys blah, blah, blogging´s last blog ..The Party Post! =-.

    • @Amys blah, blah, blogging, I went to the volcano on The Big Island and saw the lava – it was cool! Here on Maui, going for sunrise to the volcano is AWESOME! So nice to meet you Amy!
