Aloha Friday! “When Your Cell Phone Turns Against You” Edition

Yesterday the kids and I had a great time exploring at PretendCity in Irvine, Ca. It’s pretty cool and I’d suggest checking it out with your little ones if you are ever if Orange County.

Then afterwards my sweet, loving, little children soon became demons sent from parenting hell.  In turn I became head demon and had a mommy tantrum.

It was at that precise moment that my phone turned against me and did the unthinkable…I’ll just let my weet, sent moments after, sum it all up or ya…

I received a message from my mother in law alerting me to the fact that she had heard my “entire conversation” with my kids. In her words…”Thank god you were not with your lover” (She’s sooo French, huh?! I love this line).  I am not entirely sure all what was heard but I do know it was enough for my mother in law to call and ask if I needed her to take the kids for a little…yeah.

I am still trying to shake the feeling of A) being a total mommy failure for losing my cool with my kids B) Of all people having my MOTHER IN LAW hear me (the only thing worse could be someone that I work with hearing me) and C) Losing a small portion of privacy due to my damn random dialing phone.

But as they say…shit happens. Thank god I am a mommy and have enough wipes to clean up my very soiled and red face.

So my question for you on this glorious Aloha Friday from California is…

Has your phone ever turned against you and left a message on someone’s phone completely stealing your privacy and making you feel like an absolute a$$hole?

Or does this only happen to me?! Please share and make me feel a tad bit better.

Have an absolute rockin’ weekend everyone…and make sure those phones are LOCKED!

  1. Oh my goodness, that’s hilarious. But!!! It’s only hilarious because the same freaking thing happened to me two weeks ago. I’m just happy that my mother-in-law didn’t call back and embarrass me further. :( You may be red-faced, but you’re not alone!
Thanks for stopping by earlier Sarah. Happy Mother’s Day!

  2. I am sorry – but it’s a little funny. And yes – it has happened to me SEVERAL TIMES. The good thing – it’s been my husband that gets those messages. LMAO. He says he always knows those are days I need a little time when he comes home. So he doesn’t even tell me EVERY TIME. And I think I am pretty patient – but sometimes it just gets the best of you. No worries – it makes for a funny (kinda) and blogworthy story. :hugs:

  3. LOL, very funny. At least you have an understanding Mere. Have a great weekend and an awesome Happy Mother’s Day.
