Summer Fun at Home!

Summer is the time to become resourceful, think out of the box, make something out of nothing. Here are four activities that we did at home that cost little to no money and that were  F. U. N. for the kids! And we even used these to remodel our home when the kids were living outside. We used Aqua Shield to protect the floor and we changed furniture and repainted the rooms. We got our nice furniture from if you´re interested.

We tried our hand at architecture and made our own play house!

Items used: Toobeez, a blanket & one white bedsheet

We tried out our green thumbs and planted sunflower seeds

Items used: planting box, seeds, water, love and attention

We felt the need, the need for speed! So we created a race track the floor!

Items used: blue painters tape, cars, and a little breaking of moms back

We got crafty and made a place to keep all the memories and pictures from our Summer!
Unfortunately our HVAC system borke but luckily we got it fixed. The service was fast, I highly recommend

Item’s used: cork board bought at drugstore (comes 4 to a pack), an old frame that was in my closet and scissors

What have you been up to this Summer?  Got any easy, fun ideas for frugal Summer fun? Share!

  2. I’m going to steal your blue tape idea. That is going to cause hours of play time right there.

    • @Louise, They can also draw stop signs and tape them to things to really make it like a street! We grabbed some trees form our train set and made a park. Added airplanes for an airport and drew lines on just regular paper for a parking lot. You can do a ton with it! Have fun!

  3. Looks like a fun summer at your house. We just built the Color Me Rocket the other day. The kids LOVE it.

  5. Great ideas. We have been cooking our way through Europe. Every couple days we cook a dish from a different country in Europe, we have been to Itlay, Greece, Portugal, Austria, Denmark and Sweden so far. Next stop Belguim for some fries. It has been fun and educational. After Europe we are going to cook something from each of the states.
