Coming Soon! Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa on Oahu

I recently went to Oahu for a couple of days as part of a media event to see the construction and plans for the new Disney Aulani Resort & Spa in Ko Olina. While there, myself and about 13 other media, including Patrice of Mom’s Best Bets, Jodi Grundig of Mom’s Favorite Stuff and Lynn Armitage of My Teen The Alien, (whom are also TravelingMom.com writers), took a hard hat tour throughout the new resort located about 20 minutes from the airport on the West side of Oahu.

After our tour of the behind the scenes happenings, we were all treated to a two mile hike through the Manoa Valley, which ended at a beautiful waterfall. Our time ended with a casual dinner and round table discussion with six local artists who are each consulting and creating pieces for the new resort. It was a fabulous trip, chalked full of cool tidbits about Hawaiian culture, and of course about the new resort.

Aulani is set to open August of 2011 however, they are already selling their Vacation Club and taking reservations for hotel rooms! You can read my entire post and learn more specifics about Disney’s Aulani in my article on TravelingMom.
