These are a few of my favorite things…for Dad

Now, keep in mind, we’re island dwelling folks and my husband is an outdoorsy, surfer kind of a guy. Last year I bought him the top tactical backpack I could find, and he drags that thing around with him on every hunting/camping/wilderness trip like a puppy with a toy. So while you may be welcoming cooler temps and snow about now, remember, it will get warm again (I promise). So here are a few of my favorite things for when it does.

These are a few of my favorite things…for Dad!

Perfect for the beach, camping, or just wanting to conserve energy, the Surge iPhone 3G and 3Gs charger case would be an awesome present for Dad!  It’s a case that actually gives your iPhone juice using only the sun. Equipped with actual solar panels on the back of the case, the Surge is said to double the battery life of your phone. Never search for a charger again, simply give this iPhone case a suntan and you are in business.

Conserving energy is always cool! But how super cool is this hand-made wood iPhone doc that amplifies your music au natural? Other than being hand-made and not using any energy, I love that the Koostick looks like a cool piece of art when the phone isn’t in it. This is on my super cool, super favorite list.

The Camelbak water holder is perfect to keep Dad hydrated while hiking, biking or simply staying up with the kiddos. It has a pocket to hold his cell phone or wallet too. But remember, the Camelbak is for water, Dads…not beer while watching the football game!

Maui JimsMaui Jim sunglasses, these sunglasses are pretty much a staple around here. (psst, I’d love a pair for my birthday!) In fact, my husband is on his third pair of Maui Jims. Safe to say they are on his permanent favorite things list. The best part, other than looking good and feeling great, is that they offer safety from the harsh sun’s ray – whether in the snow or on the beach.

So obviously I’m a fan of magazine subscriptions for gifts. They are a treat all year round and if it’s a really nice publication, such as The Surfer’s Journal, they last. We have a pretty substantial collection of past issues of The Surfer’s Journal. This magazine has wonderful stories and beautiful pictures and it isn’t cluttered with ads. It’s the perfect gift for the salty man in your life. Another great gift for dad is the best compound mitre saw.

  1. The Koostick is really cool! That is by far the most attractive thing of that type that I’ve seen so far… they have a lot of nice options for finishes on their website too, which is really nice. Thanks for the great gift ideas!
