Where to see a free hula show in West Maui

If coming to Hawaii you must go to a luau, but what if you don’t have time or perhaps money? Well, no one should leave Hawaii without seeing a little hula shake so check out these free hula shows around West Maui.

Lahaina Cannery Mall

Located in Lahaina Town by Safeway, the hula show at the Lahaina Cannery mall is indoors with a/c. There’s a food court adjacent to the stage area so you can grab a treat and then watch one of the four hula shows: Tuesday/Thursday at 7 p.m., Saturday/Sunday, Keiki Hula at 1 p.m.

*My favorite treat is a Thai Iced tea with tapioca balls (aka ‘bubble tea’) from Ba-Le

Whalers Village, Kaanapali

Tucked in the center of all the luxurious hotels along the Kaanapali coast, Whalers Village offers good shopping and good grinds. You can catch a Polynesian Hula Show every Monday at 7 p.m. and Tahitian Dance every Wednesday & Saturday at 7 p.m.

*One of my favorite places to get ah-mazing fish is Hula Grill located oceanfront at Whalers Village. They also have a mini nightly hula show to live music in the Barefoot Bar.

Kaanapali Beach Hotel

Named “Most Hawaiian Hotel” by the Waiaha Foundation, Kaanapali Beach Hotel offers nightly live Hawaiian music and a hula show from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Read more here, to learn why they are named the “Most Hawaiian Hotel.”

Sneak peek Bonus

This bonus listing is really more something to wet your appetite, since I am sure once you see this live hula show from afar, you’ll want to go see it in it’s entirety….

Betty’s Cafe at the 505 Shopping Center

Betty’s is a little tucked away spot where you can get a sneak peek at the amazing luau, Feast at Lele. Perched directly behind the luau with the Pacific ocean in the background, Betty’s is a great place for a fun, well-priced meal with a fantastic view.

*Betty’s is also wonderful for a mellow, belly-filling breakfast. Find $10 bottomless mimosas every Sunday {yum!}
