luau love: old lahaina luau

For more than a few, the Old Lahaina Luau is a must-do when they come visit the island of Maui.

Some make it their first night’s treat, others use it as a last hurrah before flying home.

And then there are those of us that live on the island and our visiting friends have requested “take me to the best luau on Maui…”

That is when we head to The Old Lahaina Luau

  1. Even though we LIVE on Maui – I just love going to Old Lahaina Luau. I always learn something new and any opportunity to get the entire Ohaha around the dinner table makes me happy. I can eat vegan, the kids go heavy on desserts and the husband eats whatever he wants. The music is great too. Thanks.

  2. Enjoyed your pictures of the luau… brings back memories from the last time we were there! I totally agree with you about the Old Lahaina Luau being one of the best luaus on Maui… for me, it’s a tie between the Feast at Lele and the OLL though… they are both a step above the rest and great in different ways. Love Feast at Lele for a date night, but OLL is perfect for bringing the kids along – the entertainment is top notch and the buffet has something for everyone at meal time :)

    • Yes! I so agree! I haven’t done the FOL but I’ve seen it from Betty’s restaurant above it ;) And yes, it looked like the perfect date night. OLL is A+ for the kieki tho!

  3. Just what I needed- a beautiful and (tasty) reminder of why I love Hawaii! Thank you Sarah!

    • Yay! Look for more reminders coming…I’m going more photo-based. I LOVE photos and think they can tell a story so beautifully. (plus when I do photos, the posts get posted ;) ) Happy Summer Deirdre!

  4. I love the Old Lahaina Luau. It’s a shame I lived so close to it and went so few times. Nothing like having a friend visit to remind you that you live in paradise! Love the new look of your blog.

    • Speaking of visits…We can’t wait to come and visit YOU…and see Minnie Mouse ;) Hope things on Oahu are rockin!

  5. Awww…we never got to do this when we were in town last year – but it’s on my list now. Love the new look – makes me want to skidaddle over to Maui like NOW.

    • Thanks girly! Have you booked your next trip yet? Maui is great in the Fall (and missed you!) :)

  6. Wonderful pics and you know, I have never been! I did attend the Grand Opening of Paradise Cove on Oahu which was also so much fun.

I love the new look of your blog, the wood background and the header with the slippas is so great.

    • Thanks so much Tania!

I had been the OLL for the HILT events but never for the luau. It’s so worth it! Go! :)

  7. I need to remember this tip. I love luaus. It’s so much fun. I love the dancing and the theatrics of it all. Plus, the food! OMG, the food looked so amazing. I’m so glad that you and your family had so much fun.

    • Jen, Old Lahaina Luau does it all so well. The sttry they share during the luau is beautiful, the staff is incredible – maybe the happiest ever (and all gorgeous!), and the food – the food is ONO!
