Soon after every new year I turn a new age. As does my son. He was born the day before my birthday so year after year he is my present. A new year holds so many meanings for me. It’s a fresh start, a blessing, a new breath.
I don’t really have a resolution for the new year but I do have a list of things I want to spend more time and energy on. Mostly they have to do with my family and home. So I signed up for a class that’s using photography to help me stop and take in the moments and beauty of every day life with my family and find balance between work and family and home and all that jazz.
Anyhow, with this new class we get homework to take pictures. I’m using my best pal the iphone5. It’s only day two and I’m loving this course, the exercises and this new-found love of photography and editing. I’m finding the editing process to be super relaxing and sort of special. I get to scroll through pictures, through memories and then I get to find the absolute best highlights or brightness or warmth that suits the photo and memory.
I got lost in this tonight and found that I loved it so much that I wanted to journal them here on the blog.
Here’s to a new year, new age and new hobby! How’s 2013 treating you so far? Have any resolutions or goals or promises to yourself? Share!
