I recently had the opportunity to try out the new Koa’s Seaside Grill on Front Street in Lahaina. The whole family sat down to try out a sunset dinner, overlooking (and literally hanging over) the Pacific Ocean.
Koa’s was created by the same owners of the world-famous Gazebos restaurant. If you’ve been to West Maui, no doubt you’ve tried Gazebos breakfast. Good news for us, it’s the same breakfast that will be served at Koa’s. Score!
As the sun set over the ocean my family and I enjoyed some pupus, artichoke dip and steamers. Both were delicious and didn’t last long. The kids kept themselves busy with Wikisticks (I love a restaurant that offers something fun for the kiddos!).
For dinner I had the scallops on a bed of mashed potatoes and served with asparagus and a super yummy sauce. My husband had a sort of seafood stew that was delish. The kid’s fare is the typical keiki menu of chicken nuggets, hamburger or spaghetti – which is good when your kids want to stay on the less adventurous side.
What cannot be beat is the absolute gorgeous view from Koa’s. You can sit downstairs or on the rooftop, both are spectacular and literally hang over the edge of the ocean with Lanai and Molokai staring right at you.
