“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
Sarah Burns received her bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Art History from the University of San Diego. She was first bitten by the travel bug when she studied renaissance architecture in Florence, Italy on a semester abroad. Living in Italy started the love story between Sarah and travel. Some of her favorite adventures include trips to the South of France to visit her husband’s family, exploring Prague, relaxing in Zihuatanejo and falling in love all over again in Fiji while on her honeymoon.
Sarah’s love for adventure and new cultures led her and her husband to sell almost all of their belongings, pack up her family and say goodbye to her native Southern California home for a life living in Hawaii. She now calls Maui home where she and her high-school sweetheart husband and their two children (Cameron, age 5 and Leah, age 2) explore all that the Valley Isle has to offer, from the gorgeous beaches, to the hiking trails to the local restaurants all of which she loves to share on The Ohana Mama.
Sarah has a background in public relations and marketing where she headed up PR campaigns for both small and larger fortune 500 clients. In addition to writing on The Ohana Mama and starting up a business of her own, Sarah now works from home with a Los Angeles based Social Media Marketing Strategy company and is a full time mom to her kids.
You can find more of Sarah’s adventures on TravelingMom.com or catch her chatting about life as a mom during her guest stints on Momversation.com.
