Before the feature they did s’mores.  Each bag, holding one Hershey chocolate bar, 4 marshmallows and two graham crackers costs $5, but it’s worth it to see the kids enjoy this yummy treat.  They had tiny bbqs set up for the kids to do the marshmallow baking – which was safer than the large fire pit they  also on the lawn.

After some gooey marshmallow eating we headed over and laid down our blankets in front of this giant inflatable screen.  Tied between two palm trees…you definitely knew you were in Hawaii!

The sun went down and the stars started coming out over-head.  With the ocean waves crashing on one side of us and the gorgeous resort on the other it was movie time under the stars! 

It was such a fun family outing - made me feel like a kid again!  Thanks to our friends for inviting us!

I sense she knows that the doors will be closing to this milk bar, as she is wanting them 24/7 lately (we had been down to twice a day, what the heck!).

Which leads me to this post…if you see me at blogher and my mammos are HUGE, hard and squirting milk at you, take no offense and fret not… I have not gotten a recent boob job, no I’m just weaning. Fun times!

Now a question to all of you moms that have weaned…did you pump? Seems counter intuitive but I do not want to be adding my own cream to my coffee and have leakage going on in my cute sponsors shirts.  So should I bring a hand pump?  Think self expression would work?

I hope that little wahine is ok – I know she will be, she really is a daddy’s girl and an “out of sight out, of mind kind of lady”.  So I suppose the question really is…

Will I be ok?

I *think* I am ready to say adieu to breastfeeding but what if I have regrets once I am all dried up?  I think am almost positive that she is our last child and so this will be the end to my breastfeeding chapter.

I am caught between screaming with joy and excitement over getting my tatas back (and perhaps getting some sleep at night without a milk vampire on my nipple) and being sad to say goodbye to that part of my journey as a mother.

Please tell me I will be ok!

How did weaning go for you?  Did you do it cold turkey? Any advice?  PLEASE SHARE!!  I need it!

My son lives in boardshorts…they are a must-have here in Hawaii where you are either in a pool, at the beach or simply splashing outside in the sprinklers or dancing in an afternoon rain shower. Yes, he lives in boardshorts.  So I was super stoked when I found Haiden Surf. These sweet boardshorts for the little groms (that’s surfer talk for little boys/surfers) caught my eye – they are cool and REAL boardshorts, just like those that surfer Dad’s wear, but for little people.

We received these cool shorts for Cameron, my little grom, to check out. These are the Surfin’ USC Toddler Boardie” my brother will love that name…he’s a USC alumn.

Right away I liked the colors. They are cool, hip, not cutesy…afterall he is almost 5…”geesh mom!” …but they are still fun. They don’t have that mesh liner inside of them. Sometimes I like the liner in shorts and other times I don’t if it’s too tight. So no liner was cool. The fabric seems of good quality. And I think these suckers are gonna last for a while! I got the size 5T for Cameron – he’s about 36 pounds right now – and they are big – I had to pin them so that they were tight, so that should give you an idea on size. But this way he can wear these adorable boardies for longer! (yay!)

The first thing I looked for was to see if the drawstring was a real drawstring. You know, not just one that’s there to look like a drawstring – this is a major pet peeve of mine when it comes to boardshorts. I HATE shorts without a real drawstring. It’s such a tease, and then you realize the damn thing doesn’t really work and you find yourself at the beach with your son’s shorts falling down to his ankles {cover your eyes little girls!}.  Yeah, it’s a pet peeve of mine

Anyhow, I was excited to see that Haiden Surf’s boardshorts do have working, real drawstrings. Yay! Good job ladies! By the way…Haiden Surf was started by two moms from Southern California…two surfer moms…Here’s a bit more about them..
